The Dress Fitting!

As said in the previous post, the girls & I went for their fitting on a Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., on March 10, 2012 (my daddy's 65th birthday woo hoo)! My sisters, Angela & Faye, were not able to make it, but they were there in spirit!  Angela had to work on that Saturday, so she & I went to The Castle on the Thursday before; March 8th.  Faye was actually on the phone with Brooke when I walked in the store paying for her dress...so she was there LOL!  My college roommate, Kendra, was not there for the fitting either.  She lives in Atlanta, so she got fitted in Atlanta & called The Castle to pay for her dress over the phone as well.  We missed you Faye, Angela, & Kendra!!!

Alicia is my oldest niece.  I'm having a bittersweet moment with her right now...Alicia is getting ready to graduate from high school.  I just ca not believe the time has come already for her to graduate from high school...I remember the day I found out her mom was having a little girl & now that little girl is all grown up!  She has been more like my own child, rather than my niece, in the last 2 years since her mom moved to Florida...which makes this moment even more bittersweet.  I'm so excited for her; as she closes one chapter in her life & begins a new one!  I LOVE ME SOME ALICIA!!!  Alicia is a Junior Bridesmaid.  

Dequinda

Dequinda, aka Dee will "officially" be my little sister in September.  She is the baby of Jr.'s siblings; which puts him in the middle of the girls!  I am the youngest of my siblings, so having a "little sister" is very different LOL!  I never knew what it felt like to be a "big sister," until coming into Jr.'s family & it feels good!!!  Like Shanell, Dee instantly became my sister.  I am so excited & look forward to sharing some of Dee's most important moments in her life!  I LOVE MY LITTLE SISTER SO MUCH!!!! Dee is a Junior Bridesmaid as well.

Lucilla

My Lula Belle!  Lucilla, aka LuLu, is my youngest, first cousin.  She is like my very own niece.  I can remember when she was a little girl...I would beg Mama to go pick her up from Grandma Lucille's house so that I could play with her & "keep" her; please note that I was only 10 years old when she was born, so I could not keep her LOL!  I've watched LuLu grow up from a newborn baby, into a smart & intelligent teenager.  I LOVE MYSELF SOME LULA BELLE!!!  Lucilla is a Honorary Junior Bridesmaid.

Shanya

Shanya is Jr.'s cousin.  She is the daughter of Jodi Owens, whom Jr. is very close with!  I LOVE Jodi so much...she's recently started showing me a little of her emotional side LOL!  You'll have to know Jodi to know why I say that about her...I Love You Jodi...I knew you had a tear in you hahahaha!  When Jr. & I got engaged, Nya ran to her mom & said "Jr. & Ashley are getting married!"  A couple of days later...Jodi posted on my FB page & said that Nya asked her when was the wedding LOL!  Little did Nya know...we had plans for her to be in the wedding!  Nya is a Mini Maid

Kay & I have the pleasure of having two of the most precious little girls in our wedding; our nieces, Zyon & Shalaiya!  Zyon is my sister's (Tab) daughter & Shalaiya is Kay's sister's (Shanell) daughter.  They are both five years old...only about one month apart from each other.  These two little, grown girls are our little princesses; they are our Flower Girls!!!

Taja is my little cousin.  She is the daughter of my first cousin, Tracy Booker.  I can remember being about her age (maybe a little younger) in her mom's wedding as a flower girl!  Woo...that was so many years ago!  I was so excited when her mom told me that she didn't mind her being in the wedding!!!!  Taja is a Mini Maid as well.

Guess What?!?!  You still have not had the opportunity to meet of my girls!  I have two more little Angels that are in the wedding...Little Miss Kamaiya Johnson & Little Miss Somaya Putman!  Kamaiya is Kristi's daughter & Somaya is my big cousin/sister Princess' daughter.  They both will be three years old by the wedding & they are a hand full!!!  I have never met two of the most grown two year olds in my life LOL!  I cannnot wait to see how they're going to act on the wedding day!  They are both my Bride Announcers!!!
